Is it just me or does everyone’s V6 box take an ETERNITY to load up? On average it’s about 7/8 minutes!!!!! I mean what I am paying for here? Back in the day you could just turn on your telly and the program would come on instantly. How is this progress?
If I unplug my box and put the roof aerial back into my TV (with both in freeview) it loads up in about 20 seconds!
Can we get a much much much much quicker box please Virgin.
Mine takes nowhere near that time, I'm sure you can adjust what type of shut down & start up the box does on the power management option In the settings. I will look later for exact details. But you problem sounds like every time you turn your box off it's doing a full shut down rather than just being on stand by.
A V6 that's left in standby as designed, should power up in <5 seconds. Even if booted from cold, then 5 or so minutes is around the norm. You mention a newer box, but the hardware is very much current.
Are you powering your V6 down overnight? They're designed to powered-up 24x7x365 with power-saving options to manage the overnight periods. Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Devices > Power-saving. "Eco-low-power" doesn't allow for remote access via the TV Control app, so if you use this then choose "Connected low-power"
