TNT Sport PPV

Hi all. I have PPV for WWE which is on at 2300hrs, this is too late for my son to watch so assumed I can record it and he can watch tomorrow like we did with Sky. I cannot find how to do this? Can anyone advise on how we will be able to watch from the start tomorrow?

  • I do t think you can record PPV?? You have to see when the replay on and hopefully it’s on a suitable time for your son to watch.

PPV is provided via an IP stream & not through the boxes cable TV tuners. The box can only record from the tuners, so there is no way to record PPV.

Why is this only a problem on Virgin though? The other TV providers manage to record PPV without a problem.

This is always the stock answer on here, as if it isn't an issue, or as if nothing can be done about it. It should be treated as a bug.

Firstly, TNT owns the rights to WWE, so can do what it likes with the content on its own platform. VM is wholesale & has to abide by the resale conditions.

Secondly, TNTs PPV provision on Sky is DVB-S2 broadcast as well as IP, so SkyQ customers can record it. Customers with Sky Glass & Sky Stream cannot. On VM it is fibre fed, & VM no longer uses DVB-C broadcast technology for OD & PPV provision as they can now service their all their current boxes with the same IP output.
