Streaming a nightmare

Since more streaming services are now being offered its convinced me to stay with my V6 box where I can record.  ITVX is terrible - unable to fast forward and view where you are. CH4 has a similar issue.  Cant fast forward and fast rewind and able to view exactly were you are in the programme.  If I watch a programme part way view then come back to it the next day I have found that the programme starts from the beginning again.  It doesn't remember where I was on every occasion. Even BBC Iplayer shows whee eyoua re as a block with pictures at the bottom unlike a recorded programme that shows it how it is just like video tape used to.  Streaming  services are a cheap option but the quality of delivery is inferior to other methods.  It worries me that Virgin is trying to push people down this route as it required less technical interfaces for it to work

Unfortunately all TV providers and ISP's are moving to IPTV in one form or another.  Recording is fast fading from being available.  I'm a fan of recording as well, but I guess technology moves on and Advertisers need to stop people from skipping adverts.  Just think of the 10 minute ad break as time to make a cup of tea?

You're absolutely right about streaming & OnDemand options compared with live broadcast/recorded TV - the broadcasters want control over the adverts and really don't like you being able to skip them without them getting some revenue in exchange.

TiVo-software on V6 provides a good streaming product, but TV360 is designed around the online/streaming world from the base up - hence the marketing push to encourage migrations whenever possible.
