Rewinding live TV - What are the rules?

Hi, sometimes when I change to another channel and then go back to the first channel, I can rewind the program. Other times when I do this, I can't. Is there a hard and fast rule on when you can and cannot rewind live TV?

  • As you have posted on the V6 forum I would say when you can rewind you are switching back to one of the six tuners the V6 has running and recording all the time and when you can't rewind you are switching to a channel that wasn't on one of the six recording. If you press the info button there is an R at the bottom which will show what's being recorded on the other tuners.

If you actually have a 360 box then it doesn't work like this you will just get the option to watch from the start from an on-demand stream, when available.

Thanks for the response roy247. Can I change what channels the V6 tuner is recording? Or does it change with my viewing habits?

I've had 360 for a couple of years so can't remember if this works, go to the channel that you want replacing and then switch to the channel you want to replace it with and then switch to one of the other channels you are recording and hopefully that will have changed your tuner list.

If that doesn't work just select the channels you want and press record, this will then fill the tuner list, you can then stop and delete these recordings.

Press the "info tab", scroll to the bottom panel - it will show the channels all of your tuners are using.

Either select each channel normally, or scroll down to the tuner entry on this panel and select "right" on your remote.
