Green screen stating DVR has a serious problem (Hard drive failure?) how do I arrange a technician?

Said it would attempt to fix itself and would take 3 hours but that was over 5 hours ago and is still going through the same same loop.

How do I arrange for a technician to visit?

Thanks,

Neil.

I have the same problem with my V6 box. How did you arrange for a technician? Seems Virgin are making it very difficult to get one to come out these days.

    Hi Neil,

The, "the DVR has detected a serious problem and is trying to fix it; do not switch off for 3 hours”. message is commonly known as the green screen of death. It means that your hard drive has failed. It's not very often that the box is able to recover from this, and if by some miracle it does, then it's only a  matter of time before it fails completely.

You should call 150 from a VM landline or  0345 454 1111  from any other phone and select option 2 (faults).

Or wait a day or two and a member of the Forum Team should pick this up for you and arrange a tech visit.

Thanks, I managed to get a tech visit via web chat. Took a while as they wanted to check all the services but done now. Hopefully it’ll be a straight forward box swap.
