Last night audio description just occurred on ITV3+1 and for some unknown reason I can't switch it off. Even on the quick menu thing it says its switched off too. ITV3 is fine. I don't need AD and it annoys me as I tend to watch everything with subtitles now so everything is too busy with AD not switching off. Not sure what to do and if any other channels are affected
Note that ITV3 itself is fine (it does have the AD option too but its switched off) and that the AD on ITV3+1 is on all the time now at the moment so no differentiation between time of day

I've just tested ITV3+1 and AD was on although the option was switched off.
Looking at the options via the contextual button (3 dots) clicking on Audio I could see that English Stereo was highlighted with a tick.
When I changed that and clicked on Audio Description - Stereo so that option was highlighted with a tick, it actually turned off the AD.
So far so good its not there now. I couldn't find the contextual button as most buttons have rubbed off so I pressed to the right (outside of OK button) and scrolled to the audio symbol on that channel and changed to English 2 audio description. Thank you
We have the same issue with itv plus channels having audible description that can’t be switched off. Virgin sent an engineer to us today and he was unaware of the issue. After checking here and a colleague at another site, it appears to be an issue everywhere. While the engineer was here, we, checked with a Sky user and they do not have an issue, so it appears to be a Virgin issue only. The engineer then found out that the issue had already been reported centrally but the information had not trickled down to engineer level. We now have to wait and see what happens over the coming days.
