TV Box won't upgrade to tv360

When I turn the box back on it doesn't get beyond the welcome screen before it turns itself back off. Does your solution above work in those circumstances?

There are a few things you can try to complete the process. 

You could try turning off the V6 by the switch on the back of the box;  then on the front of the V6 box  hold down both the power button and the - button at the same time. Then turn on the V6 again whilst keeping hold of those buttons for a further 30 seconds.

If the power button and the -  button workaround doesn't solve it then try using the power button and the + button at the same time instead.

There is also the 'three fingered salute'

Turn off the box at the switch on the back of the box;  then on the box  hold down the power button and the + (plus) and - (minus) buttons at the same time.  Then keeping all three buttons pressed down you should switch the box back on using the switch on the back of the box. 

You may see an animated down arrow (this usually appears when the box is updating). When it restarts the first time you might see an error saying it can't acquire the channels. Press OK and let it restart again. 

Some people with this error have also managed to perform the update by either removing the box from the mains for five minutes and trying again, or by deleting a few recordings to make more space and then trying again.
