New customer:360 boxes CS1011 error for 14 days

Hello all. I'm really frustrated. Equipment came 2 weeks ago, engineer was here 6 days ago, only WiFi working. TV 360 boxes did not work and were swopped out. Now CS1011 error despite calling VM almost everyday to activate swopped out boxes. Nobody seems able to fix this when we call in.

    Hi BReal2

Sorry to see that your TV360 boxes aren't working despite being swapped out.   Do yuo have one main 360 box with a hard drive and a mini box, or two mini boxes?

Have you tried following the instructions in the online help for that error code? (It might activate the boxes although I doubt it)

    /tv-error-codes/cs1011/start

Generally it's an account retrieval error which means the equipment hasn't been activated yet and can be remedied by a call to the activation line on 0800 953 9500.  It sounds like when the boxes were swapped out that the system wasn't updated with the serial numbers from the new boxes.

You will need the serial number of each 360 box along with your account and area number.

If that's unsuccessful it has to be passed to 2nd/3rd level support to update the systems manually which normally takes 48/72 hours, and if that fails it will require another tech visit  for another box swap.

Hi. I have 3 mini boxes. Tried to use link before, keeps saying invalid postcode on 1st page so stuck there. Tried to call 0800 number, says number you have called not recognised. Should have said, I'm in Dublin, Ireland. Did call 1908 and give them new serial numbers again last Friday, told me to wait 48-72hrs for activation, but error code persists 5 days later.

        Hi again BReal2

Unfortunately these forums are for domestic VM customers within the UK.  They are a completely separate company from VM Ireland and the forum staff here don't have access to the Irish systems.

You might be able speak via a messenger chat if you go to https://www.virginmedia.ie/contact/ The online chat won't be available 24/7, due to staffing levels as phone calls will take priority, but should appear on the right hand side as a pop up , so you need pop ups enabled in your browser.
