Looking to join Virgin media from Sky

Hi,

I'm looking to leave sky and join VM due to rising prices. Currently I have Sky Q with multiroom.

I'm looking for a similar setup from VM but following a chat with an advisor online, I'm still not sure what I'm going to get if I order from VM. If I order a bundle and add multiroom, what multiroom boxes are currently being installed? The website suggest stream boxes. If these are installed alongside a TV360 main box, does that allow me to watch recordings from the main box on the mini boxes?

Also, do the mini boxes need coax to them or will they run over ethernet/wifi the same as Sky Q? I've just decorated and ideally don't want coax running all over the house. I had VM installed in my last house and the engineers insisted on running coax around skirtings etc rather than running externally and drilling through behind the tv's in the bedrooms.

Thanks for any help

Rob

V360 Horizon multiroom now consists of a main box that must be hardwired to the coax network, & up to 5 IP driven streamer boxes. These have full access to your package channels & the recordings on the main V360 box. So yes, only the master box needs coax. It is recommended that the main box connects to the Virgin hub via Ethernet. It can be WiFi, but bear in mind the VM hub is a basic piece of kit, & the WiFi performance is nothing to write home about.
