If you did it on-line or via the TV box it could be a week.
If by phone, it's usually before you hang up!

If you did it online and nothing happens you used to be available to phone and select the leaving option and speak to a UK based person who would do it there straight away, not sure about the off shore call centre where anything can happen.

When I changed package via the Virgin app, it took 48 hours to be applied.
