Home Screen changed after new batteries

Changed batteries in 360 remote, now the Home button takes me to a changed Home Screen.  At the top is a large pink banner for U & Laughs (no, me neither).  This seems to overlap the buttons at the top for Guide, Apps, Recordings etc. and the buttons don’t respond to the remote.  So no access to the Guide or Settings or anything else.  Anyone else had this happen?  I’ve repaired the remote to the box but still the same problem.

The content of the Home screen banner should not affect the use of the remote control.. I didn't have any problems with the remote control when the Home screen banner advertised U & Laughs. Rebooting the 360 will probably result in a different banner being displayed at the top of the Home screen. Mine is currently advertising The Grand Tour on Prime Video.

Changing the 360 remote batteries can factory reset the  remote.

Are you sure the batteries have been inserted correctly?

How did you re-pair the remote? Did you use the correct 'Live TV' button? (the one on the right hand side directly below the red power/standby button)

It should work by holding down the 'Live TV' and '0' button together for around 10/15 seconds. The Standby button should then start to flash followed by an onscreen message displaying 'Pairing successful - this remote will only work with this Virgin 360 box'.

You can also try the following:-

Put the box into 'Pairing Mode' by pressing the Standby/On button on the front of the 360 box for 10 seconds.  Then using the remote control, press and hold the 'LIve TV' button and the '0' button together for 10/15 seconds. And fingers crossed hopefully a  message should appear on the screen confirming that pairing was successful.

  • Hello awilliam9,

Thank you very much for your post on our community.

Sorry to hear about the fault with your 360 remote and the changed home screen.

Can I just ask if you followed the advice above from newapollo

If so, has this now resolved the issue?
