360 update failed.

Started the install of 360. The box didn't link with the remote. Entered the remote and it worked. Started the set up and it failed and asked me to restart my system. I did that and 360 came straight up but now only the old remote works. How do I get the new fancy remote working or am I stuck with the old one?. I have a V6 box and only a new remote.

It should work by holding down the 'Live TV' (the one on the right hand side directly below the red power/standby button) and '0' button together for around 10/15 seconds. The Standby button should then start to flash followed by an onscreen message displaying 'Pairing successful - this remote will only work with this Virgin 360 box'.

You can also try the following:-

Put the box into 'Pairing Mode' by pressing the Standby/On button on the front of the box for 10 seconds.  Then using the remote control, press and hold the 'Live TV' button and the '0' button together for 10/15 seconds. And fingers crossed hopefully a  message should appear on the screen confirming that pairing was successful.

So.... As previously mentioned, I have a V6 box which after I entered the code on the packaging it should of replaced the old one. Unfortunately there was a error in the installation. Once I followed the instructions to reboot the box the remote stopped working and only the old one works. Disappointed with the settings page...not much on there. Even tried a factory reset just for fun. Great way to spend my evening !

  • By the way just to be clear, The Virgin 360 is working fine using the old remote but what's the point. It's like having a new car but use your old cars engine ha.

Hi Richierich01793 thanks for your post, although we're sorry to hear of your concerns raised regarding the TV360 update.

It is strange that the old remote works with TV360, as this shouldn't be the case with it being a completely different system.

Can you please try the steps advised above in the thread to pair the remote, as it's unclear if you've tried this since the update went through?

      Many thanks
