I’ve heard that Virgin Media are phasing out 360 mini boxes in favour of stream boxes. I was looking at adding multi room for another 360 box but don’t really want the cable running around the house. Apparently the stream box will do all that the 360 mini does but via WiFi. Does anyone know if this is true? I would want to be able to link the main box to the 2nd box to watch recordings wirelessly and also be able to watch live channels without the co ax.
I have seen no evidence of this, you might be better to contact Virgin or keep an eye open for future news. I know V6 and Tivo Boxes are being phased out and will be replaced by 360 Boxes.
My understanding is that multiroom Stream boxes can connect to TV360-master boxes, and are increasingly the primary offer for multi-box homes, yes.
TiVo's are being actively replaced, but V6 remain fully supported for existing customers including like-for-like fault replacements.
Anyone ordering a new additional box for the first time, will automatically receive a Stream box. The Stream box acts just like the current 360 mini box so it will link to the main 360 to watch recordings. It will allow you to watch the live channels over the internet rather thgan being dependent upon a cable connection, so you can move it to any room in the house (and the garden depending upon the wifi signal)
Are you able to confirm that the stream box will access recordings from the main box via WiFi? Chat have since told me it is not possible.
