360 install on v6 box issue

Received remote today but after following instructions I am not getting the option to update to 360 message at bottom of Home Screen menu ? I have tried putting on and off a few times and tried holding down power and plus button as others have suggested but still not receiving the option to update ? 
can anyone help ??

    Hi Steph84,

    It's possible that the Upgrade to Virgin 360 app hasn't been sent to your box yet. Sometimes the updgrade app can appear withing the All Apps folder.  See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ac9q3zu3drw

     It seems VM are now allowing more time before sending the actual update to the box as in the past sometimes the remotes were late arriving. This could leave the customer without a working TV box  connection as the box automatically updates around 5 days after the remote(s) are received if the customers hasn't already started the process.

  • Thanks ! My issue is I go away on Friday so will box automatically update in 5 days but I can’t do anything at my end ? What does automatic update involve ?

      The automatic update formats the hard drive so all of your recordings are deleted, as are your series links.  It's best to take photos of your series links, especially if you have a lot so you find it easier to set them up again.  Setting them up can be an issue as you can only set up the links if the program is within the current 14 day EPG.  You might find a lot of your recorded programs will still be available either On Demand or within Catch Up.

      The box won't update if it's turned off either by the power rocker switch on the back of the box, or at the wall, however the automatic update would commence once power was applied to the box again.

  • Well had to call VM to get the software added ! Now they have managed to completely bugger my v6 box !!  Now have no update , no on demand , can’t record or even pause oh and all my recording r gone ! Will be like this until engineer comes which is hopefully tomorrow! Already regretting taking what I understood to be needed upgrade ….
