That sounds to me like an agent who's been told to push people to switch to 360\Stream, as I assume that's what you're being switched to rather than a V6? Can't see it making any difference to the volume other than by chance of a different setting being the default. VM definitely have a push to get people off of the superior V6\TiVo system on 360 and then Stream as it's cheaper for them.

I would have suggested checking the audio settings and trying switching some of them to see if that helped, I believe the culprit can often be having Dolby Digital set, rather than PCM if you have an older system. Also, probably worth checking a different source, DVD player or in-built TV apps (if you have them) to confirm whether it is the TV or the TiVo.

  • I have the same. I have to turn the volume up at least 4 levels to get the same as on TV. However it also happens with my firestick.

  • it is most channels

NOT the Tivo box OR the co-axials as they have been replaced

Do you have any streaming apps? If so, is the volume low on them?

Do you find that the volume on the TV is quite low when watching any DVD? If you have a smart TV, do you find that you have the same level of volume on TV apps rather than the apps on your set-top box? You can try YouTube if you haven't got any streaming apps.

  • No sound bar or any other 3rd party sound stuff

    quite a few channels

Thanks for coming back to us Morkjc. Which channels are you having issues with? If you could confirm then we could get them checked to see if there are any issues with those specific channels.

      Kind Regards,

  • Hi Morkjc,

Thank you for your post. Broadcasters do set the volume for programs but there should be much difference between programs.

What channel is this happening on? What program is happening on?

Do you have a sound bar or other 3rd party speaker system?
