TiVo remote problems

My TiVo remote keeps unpairing itself and nothing I do will fix it. I've reset it and it reconnects to the box, but within minutes the button response is really sluggish and eventually the light on the remote goes green again and it stops working completely. Then I have to reset it again. I've changed the batteries for new ones and all that happened was it unpaired itself and the issue started all over again.

Is there a way to fix this or do I need to order a new remote? I don't want to be given the V6 pairing instructions, as that's all I've been able to find with a forum search, and neither do I want a box upgrade.

Thanks.

    Hi Timbo

Go to the following page and sign into My Virgin Media, hopefully that will place your order  for a replacement remote.

    https://www.virginmedia.com/help/check/status/order-remote/unauthenticated

You can also follow the 'usual process' until given the option to order a replacement via

    https://www.virginmedia.com/help/how-to/tv/issues/remote-issues/remote-not-working

You can also select the faults option if dialling 150 from a VM landline, or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone which is a free call included in most call plans, as it's the same as dialling an 01,02,or 03 number, however on some calls plans you need to redial after 1 hour to keep it as a free call.

Or wait a couple of days for a member of the forum team to pick up your post.

In the meantime you can use the TV Control app as a temporary remote - it's available for ios and android devices.

  • Thanks. I'll see how it goes and if a member of the forum team picks up this post. With no mobile phone it is hard to get to speak to anyone from VM these days, as the last time I tried I got stuck on the automated menu which insists on me giving them a mobile number before I can proceed. VM is a horrible company to deal with on the phone.

Obviously the TV Control app is of no use either.
