Broken smart tv box

I recently changed my tv. And after going into the settings i changed the tv make to my new tv..but once coming out of the settings it reverted back from the to my old make of tv..I did a full reset and the damn thing will not pass the boot up stage. After contacting Virgin via its Indian friends twice and being promised a new box, well 10 days later the package Finally arrived I eagerly opened it to  only to discover another REMOTE CONTROL thats 4 they have sent out..engineer coming Saturday..fingers crossed he can sort the thing out..Maybe when I said broken box the Indian Friends assumed it was the remote box

    Hi scooper1000

Sorry to see you are having problems with the VM set top box.

You've posted in the tivo forum, however your previous posts relate to the TV360 box (which you weren't very happy with)  If it is a 360 box then there are there are three possible solutions to regain working access to the smart TV box, the first one described works 9 times out of 10, so fingers crossed.

Try turning off the 360 by the switch on the back of the box;  then on the front of the 360 box  hold down both the standby/power button and the - (minus) button at the same time. Then turn on the 360 again whilst keeping hold of those buttons for a further 30 seconds.

If the standby/power button and the -  button workaround doesn't solve it then try using the standby/power button and the + (plus) button at the same time instead.

You could also try the three fingered salute, which is switch off on the back of the box;  then on the front hold down the plus, minus and standby/power buttons at the same time, and switch on again whilst keeping all three buttons pressed down.  When it restarts you might see a message it can't acquire the channels. If so press OK and let it restart again.

If that works then try the following to pair the remote to your new TV.

Firstly insert new batteries (even if using one of the "new" ones that you've received)  doing that will also ensure that you've pulled out the plastic tab out from the back of the 360 remote so the batteries can make contact and allow the remote to work.

Then please try the following.  Hold  down the 'Live TV' (the one on the right hand side directly below the red power/standby button) and '0' button together for around 10/15 seconds. The Standby button should then start to flash followed by an onscreen message displaying 'Pairing successful - this remote will only work with this Virgin 360 box'.

If that fails you can also try the following:-
Put the box into 'Pairing Mode' by pressing the Standby/On button on the front of the 360 box for 10 seconds.  Then using the remote control, press and hold the 'Live TV' button (the one on the right hand side directly below the red power/standby button) and the '0' button together for 10/15 seconds. And fingers crossed hopefully a  message should appear on the screen confirming that pairing was successful.
