Virgin says its openreach responsibility openreach says its virgin while my mums left in danger

Hallo, the board and connectors got ripped off in storm and hanging from one bolt. Numerous calls to both virgin and openreac. Virgin are supposed to come tomorrow to fix it but we're still alerting people to what they have done, as I don't believe they will help and will claim its openreach responsibility again!!! Openreach claim that Virgin has to open the fault with them + Virgin have claimed they will fix it tomorrow. My mum has early onset dementia and parkinsons and walks underneath this every day. We reported it over a week ago. Yet another storm is forecast for Sunday. In the path of the cable, board and connectors falling, are people on the pavement, numerous cars. Complaint going to ombudsman, if this is not taken down tomorrow (the line is redundant as mum is on cable now) unless anyone can suggest other avenues. Thanks for the opportunity to unload, am getting a safety helmet for mum

  • The mounting bracket still has a copper cable going across the road to an Openreach pole. It is OR property and nothing to do with VM.  Complaints should go direct to OR as it's their responsibility.

It's unlikely you'll get a reply on here in the next few days, nevermind an engineer out.

The company currently billing for the telephone service connected via the loose porcelain connectors should be contacted to arrange the repairs.

However if that old porcelain connector is not used for a current phone service, it will for the home owner / landlord  to ensure it does not drop off the wall affecting people / property below.

Usually yes, however, there are occasions where they run their cabling over poles.

In this instance it appears that cabling is NOT VM.
