Virgin tv go app

I have installed yje app on my new Chromebook to enable me to watch sky sports while at work, when i click on sky sports it asks to open the desktop player the only ones available are for either windows or apple.

I also tried opening sky sports on my mobile and it asks for my sky user name and password, a few weeks ago it was working fine but no more, I am able to watch sky sports from my computer but no longer on my phone.

  • The only Sky Sports channels available via TVGo are Sky Sports News, Sky Sports Mix and Sky Sports Racing. For the other Sky Sports channels you need to use the Sky Sports app which is available for ios and anfroid devices,  or the Sky Sports desktop player which is available fro windows devices.

The Sky Sports app desktop player and  isn't supported on Chromebook devices. To receive Sky Sports on Chromebooks you would need to subscribe directly via Sky and use either the Sky Sports Go app or Sky Sports Now app.

When using the Sky Sports mobile app you need to click on the Virgin TV UK icon and enter your VM credentials.

  • Hi andyofsa6 thanks for your post although we're sorry you're having issues watching Sky Sports online.

As stated in this thread, there's only a handful of channels available via Virgin TV Go, the rest have to be watched via Sky Sports' player.

As shown on the screenshot, if you select below the log in info, there's an option to log in as a My Virgin Media customer, can you try this to see if works for you?

    Many thanks

      Hi Tom

Thanks for your reply this is not the problem that I was asking about, I get to sign in as a Virgin Media customer no problem, the problem that I have is the Sky desktop player I can only find the option for Windows or Apple with no mention of android, when i checked my phone and tried to watch Sky it works and i can watch any sky sports channel.

Sky desktop player is only available on Windows and Apple Mac desktops.

Depending on what Chromebook you have, you may be able to access the Sky Sports app from the Google Play store. I found some information here

If you believe you should have access to Sky Sports on your Chromebook, then you can reach out to the Community on Google to see if they're able to assist you with this. As this is a third-party device issue, the Forums team wouldn't be able to assist you from our side, however, there may be a Community member here, or on the Community on Google who can assist further.
