Removing Virgin TV from system

Hi,

We currently have virgin Broadband, phone & TV but because we don't use the TV or phone anymore I have just arranged for a new contract for broadband only (M500).

So I want to remove the TV box and the associated cables going to it. Currently there is a splitter with the coax from the wall box on one side and then two coax cables on the other side, one going to the router and the other going to the TV box.

Cam I remover the splitter completely and have the coax cable from the wall box going straight into the router. I didn't know if it is just a straight splitter or if there was some other jiggery pokery going on in the splitter box.

Many thanks

  • Hi Russell_S,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

The TV box will need to be returned to us but we wouldn't recommend removing the splitter as the end going into the splitter may differ to the connection needing to go into the hub.

If you would like, we can arrange a visit from an engineer to come and tidy up things for you however there would be a £25 charge for this. Let us know if you'd like us to book an appointment for you.

    Many thanks,
