How can I book an engineer visit?

I need to move the router from the bedroom to the hallway in my flat so that the signal strength is more consistent across the whole property.  I’ve seen people post similar questions and the answer seems to be to pay £25 for an engineer to visit and do it but I can’t see how to actually book a visit.  Alternatively can I get my electrician to run a coaxial cable to the new router point and reconnect the existing box?

all VM hubs are pretty rubbish on wifi - moving it will make the wifi better in the new location but may not answer all your questions - something better is always a good solution - a 3rd party wifi router or a mesh system - you would be be better using the £25 VM will take off you as part of the investment in that

  • You certainly can’t get a third party electrician to run coax, you need to allow VM’s own contractors to do the job and use the ‘right’ coax cable.

You can call the usual VM support number, don’t select any options (none of them will be relevant), just wait and you should be connected to an agent and you can explain the situation and request a non-fault call-out.

Or, if you are happy to wait, give it a few days for a member of the forum team to get to this thread and they should reply, offer to help and get an appointment booked in.
