Brown Box and Cables

I’m property has previously had virgin media but we no longer do. We have recently had a bush removed and The brown box on the outside of the house was behind it…the cover is not on the box (not sure if it ever was) but now the cable is open to the elements (partially the join where one cable is connected to another) and I’m concerned from a safety / fire point of view and the other end of the cable is still in the house and what problems  this could cause. I need someone to come out to either remove the black cable or make it safe as I have a 16 month year old in the house and it’s causing me sleepless nights with worry

The will be no harmful electricity in the box or cables, so you don't need to worry about that.

Virginmedia might send someone to repair it, or if you would feel safer to have it removed altogether you could ask for that instead. If they don't want to take it away it would be a simple job for you or a friend with very basic tools.

Thank you for your reply …there is no ‘basic’ job for me when it comes to tools 🤣 I just don’t have those skills

OK. Wait for a staff person to pick this up and see if they can help. Usually they are reluctant to do anything for a non-subscriber, but if you are really worried about safety they may make an exception.
