2 Way Spliter

The brown outside virgin box has a 2 Way splitter in it but on one wire coming out. Is this safe and effective?

Top wire comes down from the loft and bottom wire goes out to the virgin box inside which is all fine.

I have put some black electric tape around it to stop it getting damaged. Wi-Fi speed works fine, I’m just curious as to why it is like that

    It should either have a terminator on the unused port or be replaced with a female to female adapter. 

    The primary place to report faults or for service requests is Customer Services on 0345 454 1111/150 if you have a VM landline or wait two or three days for a VM staff member to get to your post. This board is not a fault reporting system.
