What is my area code

I haven't received my first bill yet and can't seem to find my area code in order to access/register my account. What would the area reference code be for Langford, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire please?

[MOD EDIT: Subject title changed for clarity]

  • Hi srmtvr

    Welcome to the community forums

Sorry to hear that you've not been able to register for your online account.

The area code should be with/next to the information that advises you of your account number, This is usually shows as an area reference/ area ref:/ area code on our communications.

If you've not been able to locate this, please join me on private message and we'll be able to locate this for you at our side if you need. You can see your private messages at the top of the page, in the envelope icon or if you're using a smaller device, you can see your private messages by clicking on the Virgin Media logo at the top right and select 'Messages' from the drop down.

  • I am trying to login to my virgin media app but need the area reference, haven’t received any letters to tell me and was wondering if you can help me out

Hi ST16 thanks for your reply.

I understand, can you provide your postcode (please don't provide your house number) and we can let you know?

      Many thanks

  • I have the same problem of no bill to check, can't register to look online, and I can't bear calling up again and facing the evil IVR.  Postcode is Bs49 5HH

  • Hi everyone,

I’m honestly baffled at how difficult Virgin Media have made something as basic as registering an account. I signed up almost five months ago, and yet I still cannot register or log in—neither via the website nor the app.

In order to finally speak to a human being, I had to go as far as calling to cancel my account, because that seems to be the only reliable way to reach a person. And even then, the agent refused to help because I “didn’t pass security.” Of course I couldn’t—Virgin Media have never sent me any registration details, and even if I did set up a password or memorable word months ago, I certainly didn’t expect I’d later be completely blocked from resetting it or speaking to anyone.

After pleading for an alternative solution (and being told off for sounding frustrated), I was eventually promised that something would be sent by post to help me authenticate and complete my registration.

Why on earth is something this simple made so incredibly difficult? It’s hard to believe this isn’t intentional. And judging by the number of similar threads, I know I’m not alone.

      Hi marwanz,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

We're sorry to hear you feel this way. Whilst we appreciate the frustration, we do need to ensure security is passed before we can make any changes to an account.

We can see a memorable word reminder has been sent. Once you receive this, you'll be able to pass data protection in order to make the changes you need.

Let us know if you have any further issues.
