Virgin media cable for extra TV box

Hello,

I'm interested in installing a second Virgin Media TV box in a separate room, but it's a long distance away from my primary TV and board band hub. Can the cable for the new box be run externally on the outside walls?

If yes, how robust are these cables to withstand weather events like rain and snow?

Thanks.

What multiroom box you get depends on what you have already.

If you have a TiVO V6 you will need a coaxial cable to feed the live channels. VM can run this externally as long as it does not involve going above 1st floor height.

If you have a V360 box, additional multiroom boxes are now mini-streamers that use your home WiFi or Ethernet network for everything.

External VM coax is fine in all weather conditions. You might want to run your own Ethernet connect for the box as WiFi can be problematic. VM will not do this. If you order a  new box the installation is done by VM.
