Virgin are making it impossible to cancel!

Due to obscene price increases, I've been desperately trying to cancel my account via your phone lines. Despite endless hours lost yesterday and today being passed from pillar to post and having to listen to VM's horrendous background 'music' - all in vain, I give up and hereby inform you that I am giving you my 30-day notice to leave.
Please kindly acknowledge both here and in email that you have seen my message and accept my cancellation.

As VM is supposed to be be an up to date communication company how often we are asked to use old fashioned letter post.

Hey dnpark38, thank you for reaching out we do have many ways to cancel.

If you wish to give your 30 days’ notice you can do it  by just sending a WhatsApp with a description of the cancellation to +447305 327 112 or you can send a letter to Virgin Media, Sunderland, SR43 4AA. Cheers

Well first I have transferred to another Provider and the 30 days ended just a couple of days ago.

I had difficulty cancelling and my problem is repeated here in the forum over and over again.

    I do not have What's App.  I'm 85 and not a teenager.

I'm only hanging on in case further payments are taken from me as this forum is the only means VM have to make contact for me.

    Thank you.

Please do remember we do continue  to charge right up until the day of the disconnection so you may still get a final bill, once this has been paid any refunds will get paid by via a cheque refund within 45 days. Cheers

The Post Office might wonder the same thing when taking it off the sender - strange sort of scam. Presumably the sender will keep a photocopy of the original. Seems reasonable for a court/adjudicator to conclude that the envelope contained the letter and reject any desperate claim that it was empty.

See in the days of the fax machine you'd get a transmission report instantaneously on the full content of the message itself. Now where is Virgin Media’s fax number...

I have sent one or two recorded delivery letters in my time and I don't ever recall the post office opening up the envelope to verify the contents, therefore I don't think the post office would 'wonder the same thing'. Of course it's been a while since I've posted any letter, let alone a signed for letter so things have probably changed. I assume the post office now read the contents of all letters posted.

  • It's an absolute disgrace the way this company is working . I've tried to cancel my account since August but can't get through via phone or their message chats .... I've spoken to them today for first time as they want money for last 3 months when my account was suspended because I just cancelled direct debit as I moved to EE after so many problems . They agreed a settlement for one month but then transferred me to cancellation team and they told me I was blocked through verification 🤬 I've tried hours through phone calls and hours talking to automated responses and I'm now seemingly up and running again even though I'm no longer with them . Please don't join this company it's abismal.

    @julesbolton

I think those are the ways people like myself have tried to use and failed.

This thread is now 5 pages long.

Have you the power to get the systems working?

  • This company is run by psycopaths who are harrasing me after my mother died. They will NEVER let you cancel, they are evil as hell. They should all be in prison for harrassment, and the only people still working here are pschopathic. BLOCK all communications from them, and block your bank from paying them anything until they ACTUALLY LEARN.

Been with my new Provider a couple of months now and very happy after the terrible exit from VM.

But VM continue to make life difficult, they sent a packing for the equipment that was too small. Request further packing twice which is yet to arrive.

They contacted me a couple of days ago to say they are going to collect it, I agreed a date.

Now they today have sent me my account which they are going to take payment for the equipment.

What a shambles this company is.

Sincere apologies for any issues faced dnpark38,

Can I ask during this, what date has been agreed?

Also has it advised when the charge will take place?
      Let us know,

      Hi dnpark38 👋

Thank you for getting back to us and confirming!

The team will be able to collect and process the equipment in this time frame removing any potential payment. If there is any issue with the collection on 7th please do return here to let us know and we can offer further support getting charges manually removed if needed.

Thank you for your patience in the meantime! Wishing you all the best. 🌞

  • can you let me know the tel number for canceling contracts with this bloody awful company?

  • I cancelled last month by registered letter to their Sunderland address SR43 4AA. But they are still trying to bill me, for a service I cancelled.
