VAT Invoices

Hi, is it possible to add VAT invoices to my account please? I need to claim this back from my employer.

Sorry for creating a new thread but it wouldnt let me respond to existing posts.

      I've tried calling up to do this and they seem incapable of understanding what VAT is, why I would want a bill or that i've even payed it.

    Hi, I need to get VAT invoices on my account please.  I also need some historical ones going back more than 12 months to July 2023 please.  Could someone advise how I go about getting these?  Thanks

      Hi Wild1 👋 welcome to the community forum!

      I will send you a PM to offer some support in getting VAT billing set up. We can also backdate this for you - please do be aware only statements for the past 4 years (48 months) can be requested and provided. But it seems like the ones you need fall within this slot! Once set up, It can take up to 10 days for backdated VAT billing to arrive. Once your VAT billing is set up, it arrives about 2 weeks after your normal bill is generated.

      I've just replied to your thread here: VAT Invoices

      Please make sure you are only posting once about your issue. If you need to update the thread then just reply to your original thread rather than creating a new one. We understand it's frustrating when something's not right however posting more than once about the same fault makes the boards look busier than what they actually are. It also means we could take longer to reply due to needing to sift through duplicate posts.

      Have a look at my reply on the other thread and stick with that one so we keep all the information in one place.

    Rather like a mobile phone contract, you can’t have a personal account for a business expense. I had to set up a business account in order to be able to claim VAT on a mobile account. 

    If you are claiming your personal use from your employer, then you should only need to provide proof of expense, to justify your claim. Your employer can’t claim VAT on your behalf, unless you yourself, are VAT registered, in which case you would invoice your employer and charge VAT. 

    I would suspect that if you need a VAT invoice you would need to change to a VM business account.
