unable to login into VirginMedia website on PC

Since 7pm on 1 Aug I have been unable to sign into my mail box. I can get into Billing etc but not emails. The app is working fine on my mobile but I want to use my mailbox on my PC. When I go to Sign In on the Home Page as I usually do it just hangs and won't load. When I click on Mailbox on the Home Page it just downloads nothing.

  • Hi Wj1592 👋🏼.

Thank you for posting and welcoming you with big virtual arms onto our community forum 😊.

Sorry to see the mail box is not working on your PC ☹.

Have you tried clearing cache and cookies on your PC?

Are you able to log in and out of your mail on your phone?

Let us know, we want to help.

    Thank you.

Hi all. thanks for your help. The problem was getting into my emails. Getting into the Virgin Media website was ok.  Getting my emails on the mobile app was ok. Anyway after I reported it, it took 48 hours to get access to my emails again. What was annoying was that I had to report it twice because the first person I spoke to didn't understand the problem and then said it would take 5 days to resolve. The second person seemed to understand and said it would take 24-48 hours which it did. I think it was because VM were updating the website and while that was happening the connection to emails failed. All sorted now but time consuming trying to get VM to understand the issue.

  • Hii,

You can try this: Clear your browser cache and cookies to ensure it's not a local browser issue. Try using a different web browser to see if the problem persists. Check for any browser extensions or plugins that might be causing conflicts. Verify your internet connection stability. Restart your PC to refresh system settings. If the problem continues, contact your email service provider's support for assistance in resolving the specific issue with your mailbox access.

      Hi tonewheelkev

Sorry to hear you are having a similar issue when trying to access your email on your PC. We want to best help.  Just to confirm, do you get this issue with multiple devices? Are you able to sign in on a third-party email app such as Outlook?

      Thanks,

      Hi tonewheelkev,

Thanks for coming back to us on this one.

In terms of the email address used to log in, this is a new security measure that means you cannot use a VM email address to log in. This is so we can implement multifactor authentication - making things more secure for you.

In terms of accessing your email account, can you please post the exact steps that you take to log in? Are you able to sign in to your My VM account itself to view bills etc? If so, once on the homepage, scroll to the bottom and there should be an option that says Virgin Media Mail. When clicking on this, it should then open your email account.

Let me know how you get on and what errors you face when trying the above.

      Thanks,

Using Firefox.....clearing cache etc didn't help.

BUT....disabling browser extensions (There were 4 of 'em enabled) appears to have worked.....the sign in button now functions. Haven't worked out which extension was at fault.....but one of them is Ultimate Popup Blocker

Thanks for coming back with an update.

We're really glad this has been resolved for you now.

It may be worth enabling each one, one by one to see which one is at fault 😊

If you have any further issues, pop back and let us know.

      Thanks,
