Switching from Sky broadband to Virgin

Hi there, we switched from Sky to Virgin on the 19th May. Virgin told us they would notify Sky so we had nothing to worry about. 3 weeks later and it seems Virgin never told Sky so they will bill us for broadband this month. Has this happened to anyone else? What number do you call for this? Ty!
