speed upgrade for remaining contract accepted but instead received new 24month contract

I responded to a text for a speed upgrade for the remaining 3 months or so of my existing contract but have now received pre-contract documents for new 24month contract. This is not what I ordered or wanted. Can the team help please?

    You'll need to check the documents very carefully, because as far as far as VM is concerned any change to a contract generally starts a new contract. 

    Remember you have 14 days to cancel without penalty.

    Did you receive anything to confirm that the speed upgrade had been agreed upon?
