Shocked

My elderly mother in her 90s said that she wasn't able to make outgoing calls. I have just spent an hour on the phone being passed around a foreign call centre with a rigid script

Eventually I was told my mother hadn't paid her bill. I said that this was impossible.  She is house bound all bills are paid by direct debit. He snapped at me to check the bank. So I leave her house to check the bank.

Another representative told me that she had infact paid her bill £38 on the 18th September.  However, on the 11th September she made £12 worth of mobile calls which took her over her limit.I actually saw red . On the 11th September my frail mother fell on the floor and lay there ten hours, calling everyone she knew to get help. There was no warning they just cut her off. Then the representative transferred me back i to the que to start again.

On Monday I will pay the £12 and hove notice, she cam have her phone from somewhere ealse. For now she is a frail old lady with no service living alone.

  • Hi winmillT

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community. Sorry to hear of your Mum's personal situation.

From what you've said, it sounds like the charges made have made her go over the Credit Limit on the account and thus a restriction has happened to prevent further charges and bills being raised.

I'll send you a PM now to see what's happened.

      Thank you

I can completely understand why a limit would be suitable for some people. My mother has been a customer since the 1990s when back then it had a different name. She has never missed a payment.

I am now at work and she still has no service.  She made those calls whilst lay on the floor desperate for help.

      Thank you for responding
