send a new contract i have not asked for!!!

i received an email today from virginmedia about a new contract.

i clicked on it to see what was being offered

i didn't feel like signing up  for another 18 months for less of a service I'm currently on.

i did not tick any of the boxes to start a new contract.

i closed the link.

2 hrs later i have just received contract documents in an email!

what the hell are virginmedia up to?

surely this is illegal?

i cant even find a contact number on their website to phone them!can some

im seriously considering canceling my virgin package and my o2 and my wifes o2 none of which are currently tied to a contract.

can someone post some details on how to contact this company as i don't and never had a phone connected to my hub.

    that's exactly what's happened here

This is Virgin Media Ltd that we are talking about here mind.

As per goslow it seems to be a relatively new thing to imbue some (entirely false) sense of legal obligation the second you so much as sneeze near a renewal offer page.

      Hi jenreban,

Thanks for posting, and sorry for any confusion regarding the contract.

So I can get a few more details from you, I've popped you over a private message.
