Retention offers

Can retentions offer the same deals they give to new customers? Had a big argument the last time regarding this as they didn't think I was as important as a new customer. Are 2 year contracts standard now? They're annoying.

Now my contract is due again and they offered me £32 for 512mb including the stupid O2 SIM that is no use to me at all.

What deals are other people getting. I'm seeing new customers getting 1gig for £23?

And business broadband half price for 8 months.

What are people getting?

Thanks

  • No, they can't.

If you aren't a new customer you won't get new customer deals.

I got M500 for £24.57/month average over 24 months (Or £21.49 if Top Cashback kicks in), which I signed up to this weekend to replace a backup connection over Three 5G which was £22.90/month and rising.

And competition affects the price. They know if VM is the only fibre broadband at your postcode.

Ditto as above.  Once you have left VM for over 90 days, you are a new customer and will get the best deals.  Or, if someone else is in the house, you can cancel and they can take a deal as a new customer.

Do you think this can be done with no interruption to supply? Or limited interruption?

No, it can't.  If you cancel, you send your kit back.  Any other user in the household gets new kit.  It's just they way it works, so there would be a few days without broadband.
