Proof of Address

Hi.

I'm moving to an address where I can't get VM and want to send proof of address. I've tried sending several emails to the HomeMovers email but they aren't responding and  I don't want to get charged £250 disconnection fee just because VM haven't got cables in the ground where I'm moving to.

Please tell me how I can resolve this.

  • Hi Lukehamlin88,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the community.

I'm sorry to hear you haven't had any response from the team.

When did you send those emails in?

      Hi Martin

I started a couple weeks ago, been sending chasers ever since with zero response, not even an auto reply to say they've got it/I've sent it to the right place.

For a company/supplier that must get this all the time you'd think VM would have a more reasonable way of dealing with it...

Thanks for the update lukehamlin88, it can take up to 21 working days for the team to reply.

        Has it been this long?

Also they would remove the charge if you was to be charged this so please do not worry.

  • The bill says they are going to direct debit me the charge, I want the charge removed now before payment is taken next week. It might surprise you to hear that not everyone has £250 just laying around waiting for your team to do something that could be completely automated. You need to remove the charge and then add it on later

Please can you confirm if you have emailed this team sorry?

If you have emailed them is within this time limit?

The charge will get taken off, it just needs to go through this progress.

  • I have emailed them but had no response. I was told I had a month from issuing the cancellation to provide proof of address. I sent proof of address within 7 days of the cancellation being confirmed.

The bill I've been issued has c.£250 of early disconnection charges on it. If the home movers team can't be bothered to get to my request before the usual direct debit goes out then I will be billed the money, which I cannot afford.

If you're not going to deal with this in a timely manner then you need to remove the charge from my bill so I don't get charged it while you're running through your super slow process.
