New Contract Not Happy with Overpayment (Help)

Hi All

Can anybody from Virginmedia help please.

What does anybody else think?  Am I being unreasonable.

Called yesterday to try and get a new deal.

By current deal is £108.00  I have been offered a deal of £129.00 which although not great I will go with.

However they have just raised my bill for March at £182 which includes several weeks where the deal has run out.

As I am renewing my contract I think the difference between my new contract and the £182 should be ducted off the first payment of my new deal.

I have been told that this is not possible as the bill for £182 has already been mandated.

Having been with Virginmedia and there predecessors for £30 years I don't believe this is unreasonable

  • Hello Cayman295,

Welcome back to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your contract. Did you agree to your new contract during the time that you've got the extra bill for? If you didn't agree a new contract and your previous contract expired, you would be charged a higher amount due to the initial term of your previous deal ending and you being charged the amount that would be stated on that contract until a new deal has been agreed.

    Kind Regards,
