Moving house and increased / double payment

Can someone explain this to me like I'm completely thick please?

I am moving home. 12 months into a 18m contract. No changes so told it will continue as is. Currently pay £56 a month. Next bill will be £112, I.e. double.

So is their process that when you move, you have to pay for the moving month twice? This seems like an absolute rip off.

    Hi dholaba1

Best wishes for your new home.

I'm sorry to say that the billing information is correct. When you move home VM set up a new account and always charge in advance.  Check your bank statement too as it's also possible that you may have with a discount/refund from the account at the old address.

  • Hello dholaba1.

Thanks for your first post and welcome to our community.
newapollo has explained it perfectly as we do charge in advance the first bill at your new property will be a month plus a month in advance.

Have you received your final bill from your old property? If so it may have a credit balance on which we can transfer across.

We're happy to take a look at this for you if you like?
