A member of the Forum Team may be able to pick this up for you to action electronically, however the following linked VM page shows the usual paper method :-
If you need to tell us that you have given power of attorney to a friend or family member, or if you are the friend or family member of someone who has been given power of attorney, you can let us know by sending the confirmation or certified copy of the confirmation to us detailing the specifics of the change.
The address to write to is;
Virgin Media Concord House
Executive Team
Concord Business Park
Threapwood Road
Wythenshawe
ManchesterM22 0EYWe recommend that you send us these documents to us using a recorded delivery. We will return the documents to you once we have received them and we’ll send a confirmation letter to you within 48 hours, though it may take a few days to arrive.
There's also an email address to send digital copies of the forms to on the above linked page (sorry I can't print it here as the forum software deletes the email address)
You can complete this via an online process, except:
You cannot use this online service if the LPA was registered before 1 September 2019. You’ll need to show the paper LPA to people or organisations instead.
You need to create a LPA Account here:
https://www.gov.uk/use-lasting-power-of-attorneyAfter your account is created, for future reference you can login here:
https://use-lasting-power-of-attorney.service.gov.uk/loginThen add the LPA Reference number to the account and your 'Activation Key'.
If the LPA was registered on or after 17 July 2020, your activation key is in the letter you got telling you the LPA had been registered.
If the LPA was registered between 1 September 2019 and 16 July 2020, referencing the LPA reference number you need to request an 'activation key'.
My LPA was registered in February 2020, so I had to request an 'activation key' which was sent through the post. After receiving this letter you are then able to register the LPA on your account. You can then "Give an organisation access".
In your LPA account create access for Virginmedia. This code will be displayed in the form of 13 characters beginning with V. e.g. V-AB12-CD34-EF56 and will be valid for 30 days.
Hope all this helps

Thank you I sorted it,
If you go via the normal VM routes you may be told you have to start a new contract like I was.
I found out from someone else who was in the same situation that Virgin Media have dedicated critical illness team that you can be called on a 0800 number. Once I got the number from VM I got straight through to someone very quickly and the name was switched.

Hi there,
I'm looking to get a joint POA added to my mum's virgin account so either myself or my brother can speak to you on her behalf if necessary. I e-mailed all 10 pages of the POA on 27/11/25 to the executives team as advised, sent them a reminder for an update on 9/12/25 but haven't heard anything since. I'm new to this so any advice would be most welcome.
Many thanks
