Incorrect bill after cancellation

So, I cancelled my Virgin Media services on 22 September 2024 and received my switching reference number and early disconnection charge. I have also sent a letter via recorded delivery which has been signed for.

My services are due to end on 22 October 2024 with my switching date to Sky being 14 October 2024. 

Why have Virgin now sent me a bill for the period 22 October - 21 November if I have cancelled with the appropriate notice and will be switching to Sky on 14 October. I paid my last bill which takes me to 21 October so surely I need a revised bill with just the early disconnection fee as I've already paid for my services to 21 October. Just disgraceful. 

Someone from Virgin please advise.

    Sorry to hear your leaving us.

    With our billing we will always carry on with the billing cycle from X a month to X a month. This may run passed you disconnection date. Once the services are closed we then work out any over charging from the date of cancellation to the date the bill runs to. 

    When you are fully disconnected we send out a final bill with a refund amount.
