I have a DEFAULT showing up on my otherwise perfect credit score

I'm having the exact same problem. I have a DEFAULT showing up on my otherwise perfect credit score for a £41 payment which I have no knowledge of. I cleared my bill before I left the property it is related to. This anomaly is now holding up my new mortgage application.  How can I rectify it when I no longer have an account?

Your post has been moved to a new thread.

First off, forget the "credit score" piece - what you have is a statutory credit file which every individual will rate against their own internal scoring. Some CRA's will also sell you a meaningless "credit score" which keeps their marketers happy but doesn't do much else.

Assuming you've already identified an entry on your credit file that you believe is inaccurate, then collate the documentary evidence of that - and email it to creditfileamendments@virginmedia.co.uk .They should investigate on an "upto 21day" basis and instigate any corrections deemed necessary.
