Error in Account Email - Help me Access my Account and Change Email

I have recently signed up for a student internet contract - I have access to and a copy of the order forms. Unfortunately, I mistakenly misspelled my email when signing up for this contract meaning that the email address associated with the account does not exist.

The problem I am now faced with is that I cannot access my account. The only correct piece of information associated with my account is the phone number. I got the following text from Virgin Media on this phone number,

"Hi there. The email address we have for you no longer exists.
Sign in or register at virginmedia.com/myvirginmedia to update your sign in details to a verified email."

Clicking on this link, I created a Virgin Media O2 ID and tried to link it with the account associated to the internet contract. I have so far failed to link it to this Virgin Media O2 ID account as the email address does not exist and I do not have information from an official bill - they ask for the last name on the account, the account number (which I have not received), and the area reference number (which I have not received).

Any help or advice on how to link the account would be much appreciated!

  • I had a similar problem. the person setting up to contract on the other end of phone spelled my name and email address wrong. I have phoned them earlier today and sorted it out all over the phone. the problem I'm now having is logging into the online account as I do not know my area code due to never recieving contract doc's, welcome email and first bill not due until August

Hi Sarah, I had a question for you. Did you need to give your account password to be able to speak to someone over the phone?

        Hello tom_s1,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your account at the moment.

I'd be happy to take a further look into this for you however I would need to confirm a few details via private message, please look out for my message and we can get started.

Also if you speak to people over the phone you would need to supply three random characters from your account memorable word not your online account password.
        Kind Regards,
        Steven_L
