Delay in Refund of Credit Balance After Account Closure

Dear Virgin Media Customer Care,

I disconnected my Virgin Media services and returned all equipment, which your team has confirmed as received. My final bill shows a £42 credit balance, but I have not yet received the refund.

My Direct Debit is still active, so I expected the amount to be credited to my bank account automatically. Please confirm how long Virgin Media team will take to my refund to be processed.

  • Hello suvendu87,

Welcome to the Community, and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums. I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with your refund after your account was closed.

Any refund can take up to 45 days from the date that your account is closed. How long has it been since you closed your account?

    Kind Regards,

    Steven_L

    Knows their stuff

And they'll send it by cheque, in the hope it gets lost  or you forget to cash it.

  • I have closed my account on 25th Oct and today 10th Nov. I believe 45 days is huge and why you are sending via cheque, when you are deducting the amounts, it via direct debit but when you have to refund, there is no point of returning via cheque and I have moved from the address. I am not sure how I will get the cheque and then process that via bank. Is there any option switch it to bank transfer?

      Hi suvendu87

If you paid via direct debit and have kept the direct debit active, then it'll be via BACS.

Did you give the team your new address when cancelled? If so and it's via a cheque refund, then this will be where the cheque goes too :).
