credit report that an account in my name is in arrears

I have also been notified by a credit report that an account in my name is in arrears. This is for a property I have not lived at in 5 years. This is no longer my account and the billing/card information does not belong to me.

I either require the account to be closed. I will not know the security information, and only have the last 4 digits of the account number that shows on the Equifax report.

I am concerned that this is in arrears as it is causing a detriment to my credit score.

    Hi et004,

    Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome, we are sorry to hear that your credit file has been effected by an account you have advised you have not had for over 5 years, when you left the property did you cancel the account or was this still active, was someone else in the property still using it, maybe an housemate/ Ex partner etc?
