Charged £40 and poor cs just want out

I contacted Virgin media about internet issues in the area. Part of this became an upsell by the CS saying my price would increase in April but I could lock in a new deal now, begrudgingly I agreed. I have now received my bill and have been charged a £40 connection fee !!!

no mention of this by the cs rep and I just cannot understand why as an existing virgin media user why I would be charge a connection fee

Tried to contact cs via messages and was transferred to their what’s app service

it’s been coming up to 2 hours With multiple messages from a bot

‘We just wanted to let you know you're almost there! Hang tight, an agent 👩 💻 will be replying to you in a flash

“Thanks for staying connected, we're just trying to get you through to a member of the team. Sorry it's taken a bit of time 🕐 today but don't worry we'll be with you shortly.”

“Just confirming you’re with us and want to speak to an advisor?

1. Yes
2. No”

in virgin media world does a flash and shortly mean over hours/ days I have received and had to respond to the same message 7 times so far in

with the poor intermittent  connection, bad wifi, being missold and extra charges and finally the shockingly poor cs I just want out. Am I in my rights just to cancel my dd pay for a month stating they have misled /missold their service ??if not what options do I have??

  • Beware customer service promises without confirming with email, VM/O2 going downhill. Do a online chat and download chat with the solution they give.

Hey pedlar1, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to hear this. Have you also been charged £40?

        Up to speed

        Hiya Matt

Been with VM for years, been on forum for over a year. So far not found it very helpful and not surprised at all the complaints. Good news with Ofcom new switching rules, VM will have to get act together or lose customers ?
