Can't change email for VirginMedia O2 ID

problem: I want to change the email address for my VirginMedia O2 ID.  The virginmediao2 webpage allows me to enter a gmail email, but when I click OK it refuses to accept it.

Ive tried multiple times today - each time it refuses, saying try again later. There is absolutely no indication of what the problem is or how long it will last.

Background. I wanted to access MyVirginMedia account to see the latest offerings. I was forced to setup this MV02 ID. I used an email address for the VM02ID which is different from the MyVirginMedia.

I have since found out that this is a BAD idea, and so wanted to change the email address fo the ID. This is clearly possible, but the virginmediao2 webpage WONT ALLOW IT.

Something so simple
