BPO collections are chasing my son for an account he never had

My son has been receiving letters from BPO regarding an account he has never had. I've raised a dispute and complaint with BPO and I've tried to contact Virgin Media but the main phone number doesn't allow you to speak to anyone and any option you choose leads to being cut off or a link being sent to your mobile. I've tried the What's App route and that is just as disappointing.

It seems no one can help as we can never pass the security questions because funnily enough it is not our account. BPO can't help yet continue to send letters and email and Virgin Customer service has got to be the most frustrating experience ever.

Is there anyway I can get this resolved?

To pursue a debt you have to be able to evidence it exists at the address and for the named person.
Identify fraud / intercepted deliveries of mobile phones are always a possibility.

Have BPO provided you with copies of the Virgin Media bills that show what services / products VM are claiming are unpaid ?

I had an exactly similar problem with a credit chaser. They wanted money for an outstanding account with Vodafone that I had never had.  I requested that they send me a Vodafone invoice detailing the amount owed, but they claimed they couldn't release this due to GDPR !

After several emails back and forth they eventually gave up, and the reference agencies removed the defaults.

Have a look to see if there are any default notices with the credit reference agencies. If so these will also need to be removed.
