Are there any particular charges on your bill breakdown that you're not sure about?
The most common explanation for a jump in monthly charges would be the bill covering the end of a promotional discount, and thus an increase in costs after that.
Hi sarahlouiseg78,
Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐
We're sorry to hear your bill was higher than expected. It sounds as though you reached the end of your discount period. When you join us as a new customer, or re-contract as an existing customer, you'll usually be on a welcome/promotional offer. When this offer ends, you'll revert to the standard package price for the bundle.
The cost of this will be listed on your contract and the end date of the discounts is listed on each bill. We also send out an End Of Contact Notification to you before your contract comes to an end highlighting the new price and also any offers that may be of interest.
We're always happy to review your package and cost though. If you'd like to negotiate a renewal offer, please get in touch with the team on 150 / 0345 454 1111.
Many thanks,
I have been a customer for years my bill hasn’t been over £70 usually to jump £93 then £130 is to much I only have broadband & Netflix
Does the package price on your bill, match that of your contract? That's the starting point.
The dates on your bill show what time period it covers, and if that's the end of a promotional discount period, there's another reason for an increase.
As an example, my monthly billing date is the 6th of each month. On August 6th, a bill was generated which covered August 30th - September 29th... that's bordering on 2months in advance. So if you're coming to the end of your minimum-term or other promotional period, then the time period beyond when any discounts are valid and thus monthly costs are higher, can hit bills sooner than you might expect.
All of this is why we're asking whether there's a specific item on your bill breakdown that you're not sure about.
