Is this the cabling to VM boxes or the TV?
You can't use your own cabling to extend VM hardware cabling to VM's network.

As above? Is the TV box and/or Hub staying where it is, or are you moving the VM kit as well.? A tech will be required to move any VM kit and it's a standard £25 fee. You are free to use your own conduit with a pull cord to assist VM in getting the proper cables up to where you are placing your equipment.

Thanks for your replies Adduxi & Carl. The TV AND box are presently 40cm off the floor on a bench. But I want the TV and box 150cm up the wall on a bracket with possibly a small shelf for the box to go on. I have a separate hallway where the internet hub is and the tv portion has an end wall mounted small box that has a small power wire and a coax cable coming from it.
I can continue to power the wall input box from a lower level plug, but I would much prefer to have the TV recorder/box mounted up with the raised TV, hence what I'm looking for is to take the current coax cable plugged in behind the recorder/box and make a ~1.5<>2m extender piece that I can have plastered into the wall.
Hope this makes sense such that somebody can direct me on the correct male/female or union connectors and cable type that is compatible with the TV recorder/box.
Thanks

VM use specialised cable as, unlike anyone else, the frequencies they use directly conflict with those already used for Terrestrial TV, Digital Radio & the new 5G Mobile Phone services. Any ingress from these will interfere with & degrade your VM services. Therefore I would advise against any DIY changes to VMs network coax.
As above, VM charges a £25 standard fee to make these type of alterations.

RG-6 CATV cable is hardly specialized nor are the F-Type connectors.

RG6 is a generic term applied to many coaxial cables. You might as well say an electrical appliance requires a 3 core cable. It’s not telling you what specification of 3 core cable to use.

I suspect the biggest problem is that many will fail to correctly use the F connectors and cause noise ingress to the network in the neighbourhood. There really are some appalling DIY bodges out there.

I presume therefore that you are going to mount the VM TV box behind the TV. Have you considered the heat implications? I have my TV wall mounted and have run the HDMI cable from the VM box up the wall from where it is located below.

I am one among many that has suffered from SNR issues that have taken ages to fix over the years. Having an insider in the industry since it started I have quite an insight into what causes the most problems on the network. You cannot stop people doing what they want in their own houses. But what you can do within the forum is warn them of the possible consequences of their actions.
