Outlook Attachments ?

For some reason, a recent email sent to me with a pdf attachment arrived but the email was displaying 14 attachment boxes, 13 of which were just outlook boxes with a desciptor plus the legimate pdf attachment.

Despite searching to disable ;whatever, nothing seems to help and I am stuck with this unsightly  problem.

Any ideas how I can prevent these unwanted outlook attachments showing up alongside  the genuine attachment?

To add, this is only a very recent occurence.
