Ethernet over coax

I've got some redundant VM amphenol coax cable and wanted to know how reliable ethernet over coax is? I could still put cat 6 in but it's going to be a 2 day job . Any ideas for which kit to go for? The cable length is approx 40m.

Cheers

Google will find you suitable converters for each end of the coax. But they are expensive and will need to be powered.

    Use ethernet cable.

Coax to Ethernet is not used in this country very much at all, mainly used in the US. Much better to just use Cat6 cable and I suggest you run two cables, they are very cheap and give you redundancy. I did this many years ago and now use them in aggregate mode to give a 2G circuit between switches.
