Homeless, customer service call no help
Hi I have six months left on my broadband contract, but I have to move out next week due to recent unexpected unemployment. Until I can secure a new job I'm going to be living out of my van, sometimes this can take ages, hopefully something comes together before winter. Obviously I can't use broadband from my van (I can't afford it now anyway) and I don't have an 'unserviceable address' I can give, because I won't have any fixed address. I've tried calling up, staff said no and resisted escalation, eventually they said they spoke to a manager but no change in the decision, the fees can't be waived. It's over £200. They also said no one has fees waived for this situation now, which contradicts what I've just read here in the forums in different posts, as recent as two months ago. Please someone working at Virgin see this and help.Homeless - Cancellation Fee, Poor Customer Service
Hi, Ive been a customer of VM along with my family members who all use the service for YEARS. I have been made homeless through no fault of my own and was evicted by the landlord on the 17th October, i have no new fixed address and am staying with freinds and family or at a hostel. So naturally i do not want to keep paying the subscription for them to use in my former house now. online chat agents will not let me cancel and are saying i need to pay an early termination fee as its 'my choice' to cancel, this is a shocking lack of empathy and customer service to anyone never mind someone who has been a good customer and paid probably thousands over the years. It wasnt my choice to get removed from the house. ive read on this forum others have had this sorted, im not sure what more to do now other than just cancel the direct debitSolved2.7KViews1like9CommentsBeing made homeless and expected to pay to leave Virgin early.
Hello, I have been issued a Section 21 no fault eviction notice, spoken to customer services to cancel the remainder of my contract only to be told that even though I am to be made homeless I need to pay almost £600 to leave my contract early. My only housing option right now is to move in with family who are already in a Virgin media contract. Surely there shouldn't be any exit fees in these circumstances?Solved944Views0likes2CommentsHomeless - Not Getting Anywhere with Customer Service
My family and I am going to be homeless at the end of the month (Apr 2024), I've been with Virgin Media for 15 years, never missed a payment or had any issues being a loyal customer. Today I've spent 2 hours on the telephone trying to explain these circumstances that are out of our control meaning we have no choice but to discontinue our contract. I've seen other people on the forums have been assisted by this where the early disconnection fee was waived due to the circumstances, I'm only hoping to be treated with the same fairness as everyone else, but those who I have spoken to on the phone are dismissing me and I've been hung up on several times. How can I speak to a UK representative from Virgin Media who will better understand the problem? (This is not spam, I posted in the wrong forum before by a mistake!)1KViews1like5CommentsHelp... PLEASE!
I have spent the last 2 hours on the chat service today to inform Virgin that I’ve had to leave my house unexpectedly as the landlord is selling the house and I haven’t got anywhere else to go there for I am HOMELESS with no fixed address. I'm now going between the local authority homeless unit and friends until I can find something permanent for me and my children. I was informed that my early termination fee to leave my contract early was the full contract price in one payment this is just totally unaffordable and unrealistic. It is really affecting my mental health I’ve never missed a single payment and I really don’t want to get into arrears and it to affect my credit report when it’s taken me years to improve. I feel like I'm punished by virgin media for losing my house due to no fault of my own. I was going to stay with the service after I get a more permanent address. But due to the lack of care or empathy for their customers. I WONT be staying with them and I certainly won't be recommending anyone else to their service and I also know of a few friends who will be cancelling at the end of their contracts. Absolutely disgusted at the service as if things aren't bad enough. I didn't choose to be homeless so why are you punishing me?! Please help I'm at my wits end663Views0likes4Comments
